Scientists have long been aware of the divergent functions of different brain regions, including the fact that the two sides of the brain (i.e., right and left hemispheres) also have distinct roles and features.
Courtney Armstrong, LPC, Certified Rapid Resolution
Therapist, joined the show to talk more specifically about the right side of
the brain, which is more emotion and relationship driven. Current research on
specializations of the right hemisphere and emerging therapies targeting this
region will be presented.
Some aspects of the right brain include our emotional sense
of self, attachment and relationships, poetry, music, metaphors, implicit
memory such as humor, insight ("aha" moments and attention to
novelty)...to name just a few!
P.S. Be sure to stay tuned...Courtney is now
regularly joining the show as a co-host!
Courtney and Susan have teamed up for numerous joint ventures and a new
series on the brain will be aired on The Mind of the Matter. Also be on the lookout for workshops,
speaking engagements and an upcoming book!
